Accessing and blocking adult content on your phone

If you’ve reached this page while trying to access adult content on your phone, read below for instructions on how to change your filter settings.

All new Three devices have our internet content filter switched on by default. This means that if you try to access adult content via the Three network, these sites won’t load. Switching this filter off is simple, however. As long as you're over 18, you can switch it off whenever you like.

You’ll need a credit card to verify your age. If you don't have a credit card to hand, there are  alternative ways to change these settings further down this page.

  1. Log into your account.
  2. Head to Manage services, and select Plan settings.
  3. Simply switch your adult filter settings to suit your preferences. You'll need a credit card to verify your age the first time you change this setting. If you don't have one to hand, just contact us and we'll help. You can also visit a Three store, if that's easier.

If you're having problems updating your settings, just get in touch and we'll give you a hand.

Please note that if you’re using an Apple device and have iCloud Private Relay enabled, this can prevent the Adult Content Filter from working correctly. For more information and guidance on this, please head to iCloud Private Relay.

If you're over 18, and you want to access adult content, there are other ways to verify your age:

  • Contact us – all you’ll need is your credit card and we’ll verify your age over the phone.
  • Come and visit us at a Three store so that we can check your ID.

If you think we're blocking a site we shouldn't be, or something's not blocked when it should be, email us at content@three.co.uk. We'll get in touch within 3 working days.

Note: The team who check this inbox has no access to customer accounts. They won't be able to turn your filter off. If you're having problems, get in touch.

We've got filters you can apply for anyone under the age of 18. They've been developed in line with the content self-regulation code of practice that we worked with other UK networks to create. They're based on an independent framework produced by the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC).

The BBFC classifies online adult content as anything that can be described as violent, gory, sexually explicit or drug-related in the same way that 18+ film and video content is classified. You can find out more about the classification of adult content on the BBFC site. In support of the UK government's drive to improve internet safety, all services have our internet content filter switched on by default. As long as you're over 18, you can switch this filter off whenever you like.
