HDR, or High Dynamic Range, is a setting in your phone that helps create the right level of contrast in a photo. When you take a shot in HDR mode, your phone will actually take 3 separate pictures and stitch them together. This gives you the best quality lighting in your shadows, highlights and mid-tones. It’s pretty snazzy.
It’s great for a bunch of different scenes, so you can snap to your heart’s content. However, HDR won’t work on moving objects or anything with strong, vivid colour – it’ll wash out your pics.
Basically, HDR mode can make your pictures pop with better quality contrast. Just make sure you’re not snapping anything fast moving or super saturated.
