Janaury 14, 2022
We’re supporting our partners at Samaritans on 17 January 2022 to encourage everyone to participate in ‘Brew Monday’.
The third Monday of January is often thought to be the most difficult day of the year and the peak of Monday-meets-January blues. So, with this in mind Samaritans want to kick the blues this year with their ‘Brew Monday’ event.
This is a chance to get your friends, family or colleagues together over a brew – or a cold glass of whatever you fancy – and support each other through catching up, listening and sharing. We all know it can be hard to find the time to reach out and listen, so this Monday let’s make an event of it.
There’s no right or wrong way to host your Brew Monday event – whether you want to hold a tea party in aid of Samaritans or start a group video call with your best friends. As long as you have a refreshment in hand and you’re catching up with people you care about it, you’re doing it right.
But if you need a little more inspiration, Samaritans offer plenty of resources, including activities, to help get you started – plus some handy tips on how to be a good listener and encourage those around you to open up.
Brew Monday represents the incredible work they do at Samaritans. They offer people having a tough time somewhere to turn to – 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
If you want, you can take this opportunity to fundraise and contribute to the amazing work they do – because what better time to support a great cause than while showing support to loved ones?

And if you’d like some help planning your Brew Monday fundraising event, you can get in touch with community&events@samaritans.org who are happy to offer extra advice and details.
We hope you’ll join us this Brew Monday in spreading the support we all need but don’t all ask for.
